How your legacy can make a difference
We need the help of passionate and committed gardeners like you to pass on our love of gardening and plants to future generations. Without your support our gardening heritage could be at risk.
The RHS is a charity and receives no direct government funding. Our ambitious plans for the future can only be realised through additional funding, such as legacies.
Leaving a gift in your will to the RHS is a wonderful way to pass on your love of gardening to future generations. Our members and supporters leaving legacies will ensure that the wonder and beauty of the RHS Gardens will continue for many years to come.
How we spend legacy funds
Your legacy could play a vital role in helping us to preserve and develop our four RHS Gardens: Wisley, Hyde Hall, Harlow Carr and Rosemoor, ensuring they continue to bring inspiration and joy to gardeners of all ages.
Looking to the future with the help of legacies
We want to inspire a whole new generation to pick up a trowel and get digging. Already embraced by more than 16,000 schools, through the RHS Campaign for School Gardening we’re introducing children to growing fruit and vegetables, learning about healthy eating and helping to nurture a lifelong passion for gardening. As well as encouraging families and communities to develop their gardening skills and make their local environment a cleaner, greener and more colourful place to live.
Your gift could also help us enormously to fund the vital scientific research that underpins an understanding of plants and the development of horticultural knowledge for gardeners worldwide.
Legacy events at the RHS Gardens
Each year we hold legacy information events at our four RHS Gardens. On these days our staff will take you on a guided tour, giving you inside knowledge of our plans for the future of the garden, and we will be able to answer any questions you may have about legacies. It is the perfect opportunity to find out more about the work of the RHS, developments at your favourite garden and how leaving a legacy can benefit the Society.
For more information about our legacy events, or to book a place please phone 020 7821 3125 or email our Legacy Department.
Creating a will
If you choose to leave a legacy to the RHS, creating a will doesn’t need to be complicated.
