Work-based training at RHS Gardens
For more than 100 years, the RHS School of Horticulture training courses have been a way of providing students with the means of converting theoretical studies from the classroom into practice in a real garden setting. Students can then become horticulturists who get their hands dirty, have excellent knowledge and are hugely respected within the horticultural industry.
Apprenticeships are available to study at all four of our gardens:
We teach Level 3 and 4 of our RHS Diploma in Horticultural Practice as a two year course at RHS Garden Wisley, Surrey
Applications for these training courses open on 1 December and close in February.

Applicants are expected, as a minimum, to hold a Level 2 horticultural qualification such as a National Certificate in Horticulture or RHS Level 2 in Horticulture.
In addition to this, applicants must:

- Be able to work with digital images.
- Be able to access the internet and use email.
- Hold a full driving licence.
Applicants from overseas are considered, where, if non-EU nationals they are able to obtain an appropriate work visa. Please note that the RHS is unable to sponsor any visa applications. A good working knowledge of the English language is essential and evidence to that effect will be requested.
