The Wellbeing Garden, with its distinctive circular paths, is suddenly beginning to emerge in the Weston Walled Garden. Under the guidance of Therapeutic Gardener Ozichi Brewster, the Wellbeing Garden will offer people the opportunity to connect with plants, gardening and nature.
Members of the Chinese community from Manchester kindly visited us and worked hard to clear parts of the ground in the Orchard, for the future Chinese Streamside Garden. We're very grateful to them for clearing lots of bracken and spending their time with us.
The RHS has unveiled the design of a 'mother orchard' featuring heritage orchards and a bee and butterfly garden. RHS Ambassadors, Nick Knowles and Carol Klein supported the RHS in a call out to the public to help us raise a final £4.8 million – enabling us to open the Bridgewater gates in 2020.
Inspired by the natural woodland and potential for play at RHS Garden Bridgewater, Leon Davis and Peter Gregory designed a garden for the RHS Flower Show Tatton Park. The garden aimed to promote both creative and energetic play, along with opportunities for calm mindfulness. Elements of the garden will be relocated and reused at Bridgewater.
We couldn't thank the volunteers who support RHS Garden Bridgewater enough during this year's National Volunteers Week. Their hard work and dedication is nothing short of exceptional, without them we literally couldn’t bring this amazing garden to life.
More than 11,000 plants arrived from Tom Stuart-Smith's RHS Chelsea Flower Show garden to be re-located around the future Welcome Building at Bridgewater – plant varieties included, Rodgersia pinnata ‘Elegans’. They've been planted in temporary places around the site until the Welcome Building is constructed.
We were delighted to announce that the world premiere of composer Tom Coult's 'Pleasure Garden' will take place on the 4th June 2020. A BBC Philharmonic, University of Salford and RHS Garden Bridgewater commission, inspired by nature and the urban environment, will feature ground breaking violinist Daniel Pioro.
We're a UK charity established to share the best in gardening. We want to enrich everyone's life through plants, and make the UK a greener and more beautiful place.
